Torr Loved Her Caribbean Cruise So Much - She Did It Again!

In the latest instalment of our team's travels we hear from European Travel Specialist, Torr...

Name:

Torr Walker

Where did you go?

Caribbean Cruise (Martinique, St Kitts & Nevis, Tortola, St Maarten, Antigua, Grenada, St Lucia, Barbados)

Which operator did you travel with?

P&O Cruises - Arvia

When did you go?

November 2025

What were your top 3 moments?

1. Our first stop was Martinique, a beautiful French island. The port area and capital ‘Fort-de-France’, doesn’t have the best reputation, however there was so much more to this island. For me Martinique has some of the most incredible scenery, we hopped on a tour locally and explored lush rainforests, beautiful black sand beaches, volcanic landscapes and the islands rich history.

2. Antigua was a complete relax and recharge for us, the island has 365 beaches (one for every day of the year), meaning we were spoilt for choice. We chose Valley Church, which is a calm beach known for its fine white sand and clear turquoise water, definitely THE most stunning beach we saw during our whole two-week cruise!

3. Last year we were very lucky to see St Lucia from the air, this year we explored it by both land and sea. On this full day excursion, we started by sailing the coast, passing Marigot Bay and the impressive Pitons, known as Gros Piton and Petite Piton. We docked in Soufrière, a colourful fishing town where the land part of our trip began. Here we continued onto the Diamond Fall Botanical Gardens, then Sulphur Springs (which is known as the world’s only drive in volcano), lastly, we had a quick stop at the most amazing viewpoint overlooking the Pitons and Soufrière.

Tell us more about your experience...

My partner and I loved this cruise so much, that we decided to rebook for this year, which is unusual for us as we don’t normally like to do the same thing twice. Our two weeks in the Caribbean were spent re-visiting eight of the most stunning islands in the Eastern region. We feel that a cruise is an amazing way to see multiple destinations without the packing up and moving on, it really is as easy as waking up in a new country each day.

What did you think about the ship?

P&O Arvia really has it all, the ship is large and it may not be for everyone however for us, it wouldn’t take much persuading for a re-visit. Arvia offers a great variety of restaurants, an extensive drinks menu, daily entertainment and numerous facilities including a Spa, a three screen Cinema and even a rum distillery (which is the very first at sea).

A reason to return?

For the sunsets alone, some of the best sunset’s I’ve ever seen were at sea!
