1. It was my first time visiting Finland, and I absolutely loved its peaceful pace of life and beautiful landscapes.

We stayed at the eco-luxury hotel, The Barö, nestled on a seaside cliff, and it truly was an escape-from-it-all experience.

Our room offered stunning panoramic views of the surrounding nature, making it a wonderful place to relax and unwind.

2. Food is always a massive part of our travels and the food at the restaurant ‘The Berg’ didn’t disappoint. It offers a modern take on classic Nordic cuisine.

We started with their traditional archipelago bread followed by Scallops & Gochujang, Pike with XO Sauce, poached Perch and Burrata with Strawberries. Let's not forget breakfast; I’m still dreaming of the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.

3. There were many activities to get involved in, such as berry picking, kayak safari, and bike rental, but we kept to foot and explored Orslander by crossing the Barösund Strait by ferry, where we enjoyed the local harbour and nature trails.

A reason to return?

Overall, our stay in Finland offered a very peaceful and nature-close experience, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to escape the fast pace of everyday life.
