Claire's Mediterranean Cruise with Virgin Voyages
In the latest instalment of our team's travels we hear from Managing Director, Claire...
Name:
Claire Moore
Where did you go?
I took a Mediterranean Cruise which sailed to Barcelona, Marseilles, Cannes, Palma, and Ibiza
When did you go?
October 2023
Which operator did you travel with?
Virgin Voyages
What were the top 3 aspects of your holiday?
1. The time in port is really maximised, with some overnight stops too, so it was great to wander around Ibiza Old Town at night. Docking close to the centre of town meant we could walk the iconic promenade along the artist quarter of Cannes easily too. We had ample opportunity to visit the sights in all ports.
2. Although it's billed as a party ship, there is lots of opportunity to take life at your own pace. We happily dipped out of some of the more energetic entertainment options to enjoy the sunset each day.
3. The food really stood out. There is no formal main dining room and no charge for any of the speciality dining options. As you would expect they are all quirky and our favourite was Test Kitchen, which is Virgin's take on a fancy Michelin-starred modern cuisine concept. It's a six-course meal with no real menu set, in a laboratory style venue.
A reason to return?
I would happily sail with Virgin Voyages again. They have really nailed the adult only cruising concept. I think their itineraries work perfectly and the choice of entertainment and dining options are excellent.
