What are your top 3 holiday tips?

1. Choose an itinerary that includes Glacier Bay, it is beautiful and one not to be missed. Park rangers and naturalists come on board the ship in glacier bay and are on hand to talk to.

2. Choose a balcony cabin. The Alaska inside passage is a scenic cruise, you are never too far from land. Lots of wildlife and the most amazing sunsets. I spent a lot of time on the balcony watching whales, otters and even spotted a few bald eagles. Don’t forget to bring some binoculars.

3. Book at least one shore excursion. The port towns are beautiful but small, if you want to see more wildlife get out of town and embrace Alaska. My favourite excursions were the lumberjack show in Ketchikan and the Klondike summit which followed the gold rush trail along the Yukon River.

A reason to return?

From the spectacular glaciers of Glacier Bay to Whale watching, Alaska has stolen a piece of my heart. Truly the most beautiful place I have been to date.
