What were your top 3 moments?

1. We explored Calvi Town and its 13th Century Citadel, which can be seen from all around. This town has something for everyone. As you wander around the narrow-cobbled streets there are many Corsican boutique shops, delicatessens and restaurant terraces, which have a nice bustling atmosphere come the evening.

2. We hopped on the local train which took us along the coast to reach Plage de Sainte Restitude. This secluded beach was directly opposite Calvi Citadel with amazing views. The sea was so inviting and crystal clear. It really was a lovely spot, where you could hire sun loungers for the day and take a leisurely lunch in the beach restaurant.

3. On our last evening, we took a sunset excursion out to the Revellata Peninsula. We had the opportunity for a swim stop, we enjoyed a locally sourced charcuterie board along with an aperitif, while admiring the blazing colours of the sun setting over the horizon.

Tell us more about your experience...

We have just returned from the most relaxing week in Corsica. What we really loved about the island is how unspoilt it still is. We stayed in one of Corsican Places recommended properties called ‘Le Home’ in Calvi, which were set in the most beautiful gardens. These apartments felt like a real home from home and upon check in to our room we were greeted with a welcome pack including milk, fruit juice, bread, Corsican cake, pâté and jam. It was a lovely touch.

A reason to return?

I would love to revisit and hire a car to explore more of the island, e.g. the city of Ajaccio, Bastia and Corte with its inland villages and stunning scenery.
