There have been a lot of unsettling reports in the press recently, so we wanted to share a positive message to anyone concerned about booking a holiday in the current climate.

Claire Moore, our managing director, said, “There were reports of 13,000 flights being cancelled in May. The reality? Just 120 of those were due to depart from the UK.”

Claire said the recent disruption was not unusual for the aviation industry.

“Having 120 flights cancelled in a month is a normal figure that we would expect during less politically charged times due to how airline scheduling is managed. It certainly doesn’t indicate a crisis in the travel sector.”

Major operators, including Jet2, TUI and easyJet Holidays, have publicly stated they are not introducing fuel surcharges on existing bookings.

Claire continues, “My message to anyone wanting to book a holiday – relax, don’t be put off, and enjoy having something wonderful to look forward to.
