1. This five star, adult only retreat is super chic and oozes contemporary luxury. Decor is minimal and design driven, gardens are lush and home to hundred-year-old olive trees.

The hotel comes with a reputation. Its former owners were the Onassis family, so Sixties style permeates, and the glamorous history is celebrated throughout. Despite the elegance, it is not all about opulence - rather it is wonderfully unpretentious. So, a perfectly relaxing late summer treat for my husband and I. We stayed in the most wonderful of suites right at the water’s edge.

  
2. On the waterfront, just 30 minutes from the airport and Corfu old town, the location is ideal. You have the simple village of Moraitika (just 5 minutes walk away) and can easily jump on the local bus, or take the hotels wonderfully decadent resident speedboat ‘Miramaretta’ into Corfu Old Town to stroll the delights of the ancient port. We sampled both modes of transport and absolutely loved the experience of following the coast aboard Miramaretta, past the castle where Prince Phillip was born, before docking in Corfu Town.

   
3. The quality of food on offer was outstanding, from some of the best restaurants in Corfu. The hotel offers 3 very diverse restaurants on site and uses the locality very well, offering guests the opportunity to dine in the local area. The meals were certainly amongst some of the very best we have experienced anywhere. We stayed on half board and Domes also offer a Haute Living concept which affords ‘club’ style benefits including complimentary drinks and snacks within the Haute Living Lounge, so a great nod to a more inclusive break.

         
A reason to return?

During our 3 night stay we swam in the sea, in both pools, relaxed in the private space outside our room, chilled in our private hot tub, visited Corfu Old Town twice, visited Moraitika and its beach, had lovely spa treatments and enjoyed many beautiful meals. We had such a wonderfully relaxing break and came back feeling fully recharged.

Who wouldn’t want to book more of that into their diary?!
