What were your top 3 moments?
1. We had a three-hour drive through rural landscapes to our hotel which directly overlooked Lake Bin El Ouidane, upon arrival I quickly realised the journey was worth the stunning views. From my balcony, I also had the most amazing view of the lake, where I would spend my early mornings with a cup of mint tea just taking in the scenery.
2. Day two consisted of a day adventure with ‘Riviera Travel’ to the impressive Ouzoud Waterfalls. The path to the waterfalls runs parallel to the Ourika River, there are lots of street vendors and opportunities to see wild macaques. It was at the bottom of the falls where I really got the wow factor! We took the boat ride that ferried us right up to the waterfall and the heavy mist was a welcome refresher in the sun.
3. Day three was another incredible adventure with ‘Not in the Guidebooks’ to a local Berber family’s home. We completed a Tajin cooking class and took a hike to Imsfrane Cathedral. The hike took us through some stunning scenery and local villages where we met the most welcoming families. We really got to experience authentic Morocco and their way of life.
Tell us more about your experience...
I have been extremely lucky to experience this wonderful country with team ATAS. My trip was full of adventure, and it gave me a real insight of what a touring escorted tour would look like. As an independent agent we have a close relationship with lots of touring companies (eg, Wendy Wu, Travelsphere, G Adventures and many more). Please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can assist you with your next adventure!
A reason to return?
Morocco is diverse, offering a blend of cultures, stunning landscapes and vibrant cities. I would love to explore Fes; one of Morocco’s most authentic and historical cities, offering a maze of narrow streets, ancient buildings and bustling souks.
A big thank you to SLB photography for some of these amazing photos.
